Yuga Labs announces Legends of the Mara game and unique NFT collection

Yuga Labs, the publisher behind the popular Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT collection, has announced the release of a new game called Legends of the Mara (LOTM). According to a statement from Otherside on March 28th, the game will feature its own unique collection, and will be a 2D continuation of the story of main character Kodas.

LOTM will provide players with an immersive experience, allowing them to engage in farming and hunting activities as well as taking on the role of gatekeeper. The adventure starts with a free Vessel character, which can be upgraded through gameplay to become a skilled Mara apprentice and ultimately transform into the skilled artisan Kodamara. The game is set to be released in May 2023.

Yuga Labs first hinted at the project last month, marking exactly one year since the release of Otherside. At that time, the Otherside Twitter account posted a mysterious image with the title “The Shattered Vessels.” Although Yuga Labs has revealed that ApeCoin will play a major role in LOTM, no further details have been given about the game.

The popular NFT artist Beeple has been suggested as the creator of the new NFT collection associated with LOTM, according to Twitter user Kupo Koda. Beeple has been sharing images of a mysterious black circle surrounded by warriors, which has been attracting attention from the NFT community. His artwork “Everydays – The First 5000 Days” was sold for over $69 million, making it one of the most expensive NFTs ever sold.

As the release date for Legends of the Mara draws near, fans of Otherside and BAYC are eagerly anticipating the new game and the unique NFT collection that will accompany it. With the involvement of Yuga Labs and Beeple, this is a project that is sure to make waves in the NFT and gaming worlds.
