Youtube seems to be resuming the Crypto Purge with new warnings and content removals

YouTube seems to be restarting the war with cryptocurrencies by giving warnings and removing content on this topic. A Crypto Purge? Especially, Carl Eric Martin – behind The Moon, one of the most popular YouTube and cryptocurrency channels, with a vast 110,000 subscribers – along with Ivan on Tech are two of the many celebrities who have been hit by YouTube.

Youtube continues to censor strictly content related to cryptocurrency

The Moon’s daily video stream, this time about Bitcoin’s role in the recent Coronavirus financial crisis, was not liked by YouTube as the video giant decided to delete it. YouTube claims the video was due to a Community Guidelines violation. Additionally, the platform owned by Google has warned that in case this happens again, the account will receive a strike and will not be able to upload, post, or stream for seven days.

In addition to Carl Eric Martin, Youtube continues to torment Ivan On Tech. Ivan on Tech, a cryptocurrency developer, said that YouTube deleted one of his videos on March 9.

In the light of that situation, Ivan has launched his site to stream and host his content, inspired by the POSSE (Publish [on your] Own Site, Syndicate Elsewhere), web publication philosophy.

YouTube does that again – Crypto Purge?

YouTube Crypto Purge starts in late December 2019. The considerable video platform begins targeting cryptocurrency creators by giving warnings and completely removing crypto-related videos. The first known victim of the purge was Chris Dunn, a cryptocurrency investment channel founded in 2014.

Later, YouTube stated that the reason was their fault during the review process, and they reinstated the content.

While some believe the platform has deleted its review process, purges still occasionally appear. YouTube does not seem to distinguish legitimate videos from scams and uploads.

Just a few weeks ago, YouTube flagged Ivan on Tech’s live stream as harmful and dangerous, the flow was cut in the middle, and the channel got punished by a 3-month suspension.
