y00ts NFT Project Journeys from Solana to Polygon and Now to Ethereum

In a surprising move that has sent shockwaves throughout the NFT community, the non-fungible token (NFT) project y00ts is once again making a significant switch in blockchain networks, marking its departure from Polygon (MATIC) to Ethereum (ETH). This decision comes merely four months after the project had successfully migrated the majority of its NFTs from Solana to Polygon.

DeLabs, the pioneering force behind the y00ts NFT project, announced the migration via its official X Twitter account on August 9th. The decision was driven by the intention to unite the y00ts community with that of its DeGods NFT collection, a move that has garnered mixed reactions from enthusiasts and investors alike.

The initial migration from Solana to Polygon was met with enthusiasm and saw over 11,000 of the total 15,000 y00ts NFTs being successfully bridged by March 30th. This transition was carried out over several months, beginning with the announcement in December and officially commencing on March 28th. The move was seen as an effort to tap into Polygon’s scaling solutions and reduced fees, enhancing the overall NFT experience for the y00ts community.

However, the recent announcement has indicated a change of course for the project. DeLabs expressed their desire to consolidate their user bases, specifically those of y00ts and DeGods, under a single network, ultimately leading them to the Ethereum ecosystem. This choice also aligns with DeGods’ own decision to transition away from Solana to Ethereum, which began in April.

The move was not without its implications. The y00ts project disclosed its intention to return a substantial $3 million grant received from Polygon Labs back in January. The grant was originally provided to support y00ts’ migration efforts, but the project’s pivot has prompted them to return the funds. In a show of transparency, DeLabs stated that the returned funds would be redirected towards nurturing and expanding the NFT ecosystem, fostering growth and innovation among builders and creators.

Founder FrankDeGods took to Twitter to address the community’s concerns, emphasizing the intention behind the move. “We tried our best to make it work but we just need to bring our 2 communities together,” he tweeted. He urged all stakeholders to maintain respect throughout this transition, highlighting the shared commitment and unity among the y00ts and DeGods communities.

While the move has raised questions within the NFT sphere, DeLabs remains steadfast in its vision. FrankDeGods indicated that the upcoming Season III would be centered around the DeGods collection, encouraging the y00ts community to rally behind the project. “We’re all one big family,” he emphasized.

The y00ts NFT project has certainly made a bold move, leaving the community eagerly anticipating the next steps in this evolution. As the project bids farewell to Polygon and prepares to establish its presence on the Ethereum network, the future of y00ts and its united community with DeGods remains an exciting narrative to follow.

In the words of FrankDeGods, “In return, we’ll go even harder on y00ts 2.” With this promise, the NFT space braces itself for an intriguing phase of growth, innovation, and unity. As the NFT ecosystem continues to evolve, the y00ts project serves as a testament to the dynamic nature of blockchain technology and its ability to adapt to the changing tides of community preferences and aspirations.
