XRP was integrated on BitPay via Ripple’s Xpring platform in October as part of their partnership. At the time, Sean Rolland, BitPay’s product manager, said XRP could offer fast, efficient, and scalable payment options. However, token integration ended in January.
With the recent addition to XRP, BitPay currently supports a total of seven cryptocurrencies and stablecoins on its platform, including BTC, ETH, XRP, BCH, USDC, GUSD, and PAX.
Seven digital assets account for nearly 80% of the total market capitalization. Founded in 2011, US-based BitPay has processed more than $ 1 billion in cryptocurrency payments in both 2017 and 2018. BitPay is also a pioneer in blockchain payment processing with a mission to change the way businesses and people send, receive, and store money.
This news has not had much impact on XRP prices as it is still going against the uptrend of the Top 10 with a 0.2% decline.
