Function X (FX) is a decentralized network. It is intended to be an integrated solution to serve decentralized networks. Function X includes a combination of: a new blockchain algorithm, a decentralized communication architecture, a complete set of decentralized networks, and a decentralized governance protocol.
Function X believes that decentralization is absolute, immutable and does not tend to be centralized. This includes design concepts, architectures, procedures/protocols, as well as governance structures. Finally, this is the FX implementation of a decentralized network, where not a single entity can dominate, influence and control the network in any way, shape or form.
Function X ecosystem Function X’s ecosystem has 5 components:
FX Chain
As the most important part of the ecosystem of Function X. FX Chain, the Blockchain platform allows other components of the ecosystem to function on it. According to Function X’s Concept Paper, FX Chain will use the Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (pBFT) consensus algorithm.
FX Operating System
The FX operating system is a variant of Android with compatibility with Blockchain. FX OS will be the operating system used in Pundi X’s Xphone product.
FXTP
If HTTP is the transpermission protocol of the website, FXTP is the transition protocol in Blockchain in an end-to-end way. This means that your data will be able to send, receive and display based on consensus rather than through a server like HTTP.
FX DDocker
DDocker stands for Decentralized Docker – a platform that allows developers to build and run decentralized applications developed by FX.
FX IPFS
IPFS is a protocol designed to store data in a distributed ledger system. The application of FX IPFS will help to ensure data security and decentralization.
Products
BOB
The first BOB model is based on Snapdragon 660, 6GB + 64GB specifications (this is the minimum specification requirement). This is a working prototype so the final product will be different. FX envision BOB as your second phone designed to be the first in the world and different from your main phone.
XPOS
XPOS will be upgraded when Function X is ready. XPOS will act as a decentralized point of sale device and more than a node. As a node, XPOS will also be able to receive transaction fees and contribute to the decentralized network.
Nodes
BOB, XPOS and future smart devices powered by Function X will serve as Function X nodes. The nodes will provide various services for the distributed network based on their performance, location, storage capacity and trust level.
Team
David Ben Kay – President
As President of Function X, David leads the platform’s efforts to create an ecosystem completely powered by blockchain technology. He is also currently the Chief Legal Advisor for Pundi X. Previously, he was a board member of the Ethereum Foundation, General Counsel of Microsoft China and Managing Partner of Denton Hall. He graduated JD from UCLA.
Yos Adiguna Ginting – Council Member
Yos is currently the Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Asosasi Blockchain Indonesia, the official host country of blockchain supporting companies. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Indonesia Service Dialogue Council as well as the University Council of the University of Sampoerna.
Yoshiyuki Yamamoto – Council Member
Yoshi currently serves as a board member at Function X Foundation. He brings a wealth of expertise and experience in blockchain fields that he gained during his career in the United Nations System. He works towards bringing solutions that will significantly improve society. He aims to clone blockchain technology with his valuable contribution to Function X.
Sri Poland s / o Krishnan – Compliance Officer
Sri Balan is a supporter and lawyer of the Supreme Court of Singapore. He is an experienced litigator, who handled business / commercial lawsuits, insolvency, shipping, administrative and criminal – just name a few. Currently, he advises for PUNDI X Labs Pte. Ltd. on a variety of controversial, non-controversial, regulatory and compliance issues as well as data protection issues. Before starting his legal career, he was an educator, teaching at a leading educational institution in Singapore. He is also a former senior analyst at the Ministry of Defense of Singapore, where he manages defense cooperation.
Conclusion
Function X is a next-generation internet service framework. They have created a completely new ecosystem of service framework by improving the existing internet and blockchain architecture, combining the benefits of both worlds and using the most commonly used technical solutions. They have employed a systematic approach towards software/hardware codesign, to allow all existing applications, websites, data and services to be completely decentralized, helping to lay a solid foundation for future development paths of the next-generation internet.
