Africa’s oldest national park Virunga National Park begins accepting cryptocurrency donations, like Bitcoin
Virunga National Park is one of the oldest national parks in Africa. Currently, the homes of many of these rare animals are calling for contributions to save endangered mountain gorillas, while building green energy sources and other goals.
The list of supported cryptocurrencies includes Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Chainlink (LINK), Litecoin (LTC), and a bunch of more obscure altcoins like Amp (AMP) and Storj (STORJ).
The press release from Virunga National Park states:
“By accepting crypto donations, we make it easier for tech-minded, eco-conscious individuals to directly donate cryptocurrency to Virunga in a tax-efficient way.”
Due to the excess clean energy produced by the EU-funded hydroelectric plant, Virunga National Park has become a major hub for Bitcoin miners.
