Uniswap Agora Goes Live: A New Governance Interface for Community Members
Uniswap Agora, a new governance interface that connects Uniswap community members with value-aligned delegates, has gone live. The platform was developed by the Agora team, a delegate marketplace that was originally created for Nouns DAO and was funded through the Uniswap Foundation Grants Program.
The platform allows delegates to create individual profiles that highlight their perspectives and opinions, making it easier for community members to find and connect with delegates who share their values. This is expected to make the delegation process smoother and more accessible for new delegates who are keen to participate in governance.

According to Devin Walsh, the executive director at Uniswap Foundation, the sustainability of protocols such as Uniswap depends on the active participation of value-aligned delegates. However, the current delegation process suffers from a “chicken and egg” problem, where it is difficult for new delegates to obtain delegation from UNI token-holders, and for token-holders to find delegates aligned with their values and issues.
Uniswap Agora aims to address this issue by providing a platform for delegate information, making it easier for users to learn about individual delegates and choose representatives who best represent their values. In the next four weeks, a delegate race will be conducted, where new and existing delegates will create profiles on Agora, and users can select their new delegates or delegation.
Phase one of the race involves profile creation, which will last until Friday May 12. Phase two, where participants will choose their new delegates or delegation, is set to begin on May 13 and end on May 26.
The launch of Uniswap Agora is expected to be a significant development for the Uniswap community, as it will help to improve the transparency and accessibility of the delegation process. The platform’s ability to connect users with value-aligned delegates could encourage more active participation in governance and ensure the sustainability of the protocol in the long term.
