The hacktivist group Anonymous has recorded a message aimed at Elon Musk for allegedly manipulating Bitcoin price
The famous hacker group Anonymous suddenly claimed to have targeted Elon Musk for causing the price of Bitcoin to plummet with his tweets. This is an act of manipulating the market by taking advantage of its popularity. In the video, the team claims that the Tesla CEO is holding too much power over the crypto market and they are tired of the way he appears to be cavalier and even amused when he sees BTC continuously going up and down abnormally.
“Greetings citizens of the world. This is a message from Anonymous for Elon musk”
A few days ago, Musk tweeted a rather cryptic message that, according to many, was a hint about the billionaire’s parting with Bitcoin. The tweet includes a Bitcoin logo and a broken heart emoji. This “accidental” action caused Bitcoin to drop 7% in yesterday’s trading session.
He then changed his Twitter profile picture to a Bitcoin girl with laser eyes as shown in the image below.
Musk is accused of exerting near-manipulative influence over Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies by tweeting “nonsense” to his more than 50 million followers, to the point where even Anonymous is annoyed.
And Anonymous has frankly expressed its disappointment with Musk. All in all, Anonymous has shed light on many things people may not have known about Musk. That includes how he treats his employees, the harm to the environment, where his wealth comes from, how Tesla actually makes money, and efforts to centralize and control Bitcoin mining. And today, we’re going to go deeper into how Anonymous is unhappy with Musk’s attitude towards Bitcoin.
The video begins by explaining why Elon Musk became famous:
“For the past several years you have enjoyed one of the most favorable reputations of anyone in the billionaire class because you have tapped into the desire that many of us have to live in a world with electric cars and space exploration, but recently your carefully created public image is being exposed and people are beginning to see you as nothing more than another narcissistic rich dude who is desperate for attention.”
Anonymous then emphasized that Elon Musk’s lack of concern for humanity was evident to Musk’s employees for a long time. Those were the people who had faced unbearable conditions under his command for many years.
Anonymous said:
“Millions of retail investors were really counting on their crypto gains to improve their lives. This is something that you will never understand because you were born into the stolen wealth of a South African apartheid emerald mine and have no clue what struggle is like for most of the working people in the world. Of course, they took the risk upon themselves when they invested, and everyone knows to be prepared for volatility in crypto, but your tweets this week show a clear disregard for the average working person.”
The hacker group continued to express their indignation:
“As hardworking people have their dreams liquidated over your public temper tantrums, you continue to mock them with memes from one of your million-dollar mansions.”
Musk’s tweets about cryptocurrency initially made him a favorite of the Bitcoin community. But Anonymous is accusing Musk of having a cavalier and disdainful approach to cryptocurrencies and investors. Anonymous claims that despite Musk’s portrayal of himself as an environmentalist, he announced that Tesla would suspend payments in Bitcoin when it found the industry too polluted. But Musk himself doesn’t really think that way in terms of how he runs the company and runs the people.
Anonymous went on to expose what Musk did:
“It is also obvious to the young children working in your overseas lithium mines, which are destroying the local environment as well.”
Anonymous basically implies that Musk is not what he shows himself to the public. They then issued an implicit warning:
“You may think you are the smartest person in the room, but now you have met your match. We are Anonymous! We are legion. Expect us.”
In the past, Anonymous has disrupted computer systems operated by major corporations including PayPal and the Church of Scientology. They have also participated in famous movements such as Occupy Wall Street.
At present, Elon Musk has changed his Twitter profile picture to a mournful black and has not responded to Anonymous.
