The general manager of RippleNet said that Ripple anticipates a path forward for resuming its partnership with MoneyGram

Returning to the MoneyGram story announcing that they will suspend trading on the RippleNet platform in the near future, AZCoin News will continue to update the current situation. Specifically, it seems that the Ripple side is completely confident with the announcement that it will resume the partnership with MoneyGram.

Ripple claims its multi-year contract with MoneyGram is still in place

MoneyGram announced that it would suspend trading on XRP’s platform during its earnings Q4 call.

Asheesh Birla, RippleNet’s general manager, said Ripple anticipates a path forward for resuming its partnership with MoneyGram.

In its statement, Birla clarified that the Dallas-based remittance business actually stopped using Ripple’s On-Demand Liquidity solution, but the multi-year contract between the two companies is still in effect.

Even if MoneyGram fails to restore its relationship with Ripple, Birla claims that Ripple has more than a few dozen other companies still using ODL and new clients are expected to be announced soon.

However, MoneyGram CEO Alex Holmes has signaled that he wants to resume the partnership with Ripple:

“We’re pausing those activities just more for [an] abundance of caution..than with any other concerns about it. We’ve had a great relationship with Ripple and it’d be great to continue to partner with them.”
