Tesla would start testing Dogecoin payments last month, DOGE price up 12%
Many Twitter accounts, including Dogecoin co-founder Billy Markus, found the DOGE logo next to the Tesla Cyberwhistle and the “Giga Texas” belt buckle earlier today. Accordingly, this seems to be Tesla’s move to accept DOGE as a payment method soon. Following this news, Dogecoin price is up over 12% on the day, currently trading at $0.1925.
Dogecoin price soars as Tesla starts accepting DOGE for some products
It looks like electric car giant Tesla has started pricing some of its products in Dogecoin, the original meme cryptocurrency. While Tesla doesn’t accept DOGE for electric cars, it’s technically possible to buy an electric car with the biggest meme. Tesla’s Cyberquad, a $1,900 quad bike designed for kids, can be purchased with DOGE.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has announced that the company will make several goods purchasable with Dogecoin in December, giving the cryptocurrency a significant boost after months of lethargy price action.
