Elon Musk urges McDonald’s to accept Dogecoin, promises to eat Happy Meal on TV
This comes after the leading e-car maker added the dog cryptocurrency as a payment option for several goods earlier this month. McDonald’s recently stepped up its marketing game by trolling the crypto community in its viral tweet following a significant market crash. The prices of Bitcoin and Ethereum have more than halved from their record highs recorded in November.
For years, the brand has been a fixture in crypto discourse, inspiring humor among investors who have struggled with severe market corrections by becoming food service workers for a living.
While McDonald’s memes tend to denigrate the work of service economists, they’re growing in popularity amid a market correction. MicroStrategy CEO Michael Saylor and El Salvador President Nayib Bukele ate the cake modestly after the Bitcoin crash, posting self-deprecating photos of themselves in McDonald’s uniforms.
Ironically, many community members have noticed that the Bitcoin chart itself now resembles the iconic McDonald’s logo after forming what appears to be a double-top pattern.

Last week, Dogecoin holders began begging McDonald’s to accept DOGE after the fast-food chain interacted with Billy Markus, the co-founder of the original meme, by sending him an image of a Shiba Inu dog with a French fry in his teeth.
