Some tokens worth $77.7 million have been unusually removed from AscendEX
According to a report from PeckShield, it appears that some tokens on the AscendEX exchange (formerly Bitmax) have been unusually moved out of the platform’s hot wallet.

According to a report from PeckShield, it appears that some tokens on AscendEX exchange (formerly Bitmax) have been unusually moved out of the platform’s hot wallet.

Accordingly, a number of tokens including ERC-20, Binance Smart Chain (BSC), and Polygon were abnormally moved out of the exchange’s hot wallet. All deposits and withdrawals have been suspended. The loss recorded so far is about $77.7 million.
Accordingly, the estimated loss is over $60 million worth of Ethereum, $9.2 million from BSC tokens, and $8.5 million in Polygon.

To date, AscendEX has proactively warned users about the stolen funds. The exchange also confirmed that hackers were unable to access the company’s cold wallet reserves. The company also announced that it will help affected users by compensating for the damage caused by this attack.
