According to some reports, there were three XRP transactions, carrying 512.1 million XRP, conducted by Ripple and wallets that Whale Alert tags as unknown.
Record 512M XRP shifted by Ripple and unknown wallets
An incredible three pieces of XRP have been transferred in the past twenty-four hours. Accordingly, Ripple transferred 50 million XRP – the smallest of these three – into the reserve wallet RL18-VN, commonly used to transfer crypto outside the company – to charities, exchanges, and financial institutions.
Two other Ripple-linked token blocks contain 226,439,980 and 235,725,280 XRP worth $163,244,540 and $170,121,600. The total amount of XRP transferred equivalent includes approximately $370 million.
Whale Alert has tagged the sender and receiver of these two XRP coins as “unknown” addresses, but XRP-focused data platform Bithomp shows that the sender and receiver are exchanges in both cases. Cryptocurrency exchange Uphold transferred funds internally.
Since December 2020, Ripple Labs has struggled to win over the SEC in a lawsuit filed by the regulator, and Garlinghouse has repeatedly stated that the SEC’s goal is to impose tight control on the entire crypto space. They chose Ripple as a scapegoat.
