Watch porn and get rewarded, have you ever heard of it? Recently, PornVisory – novel cryptocurrency project – has announced that it will reward users with tokens for watching porn videos on their platform.
PornVisory lets its users earn tokens by watching ads before pornography videos
Veronica Noschese, the founder of PornVisory, pointed out the natural synergy between the two industries is advantageous, particularly due to the need for anonymous financial systems when it comes to the consumption of pornography.
He stated:
“In the porn industry, there are a lot of issues regarding privacy and reputation. For example, even the biggest name in the industry, Pornhub, saw its account blocked by PayPal. Also, you might not want to pay your Premium account to watch porn with the bank account you share with your wife.”
Noschese pointed to PayPal banning Pornhub from its system in 2019 and the porn giant’s subsequent decision to support the Verge (XVG) cryptocurrency in 2018. In January, Pornhub also started accepting the Tether (USDT) as a payment option.
Noschese shared that the company platform is modeled after the Basic Attention Token (BAT). Brave Browser, which is a privacy-focused web browser with a built-in ad blocker, rewards users with BAT for enabling particular types of advertisements.
Similarly, users viewing content from PornVisory will view ads and be compensated in PVY tokens.
PornVisory is currently a news site in Italian for the adult industry. However, it is now planning to add a piece of news in English. Besides, they plan to release a live-streaming platform and a third party pornography website.
Noschese revealed:
“PornVisory does not have any plans to conduct an initial coin offering but will instead airdrop some of its tokens as a part of its marketing strategy. Currently, PornVisory is personally financed by its founder, with a plan to look for angel investors if the platform gains traction.”
Before this, Noschese worked as a marketing professional in the adult entertainment industry. This allowed her to establish a sizable network of advantageous connections that she hopes to leverage for future partnerships. In the future, she hopes that these partnerships could lead to allowing PVY holders to spend their tokens in adult entertainment shops or to give tips to performers on streaming platforms.
Sharing with Cointelegraph, Mauro Baeli, the CEO of Deepit – the Swiss firm responsible for the blockchain aspect of the project – said his firm believes the ideas behind PornVisory have great potential:
“We believe that PornVisory will succeed if they’ll be able to sharpen the focus in a specific segment of their industry. The use of the blockchain tools will surely put them one step beyond.”
