Litecoin has mined 64 million, now less than 20 million LTC to be mined

The 64 millionths Litecoin has been mined. There are now less than 20 million LTC to be mined, litecoin.com published on Dec 30.

According to that, on the 26th December 2019 at 12:50UTC Block 1,760,000 created the 64 millionth Litecoin, marking another milestone on the network. There are now less than 20 million Litecoin to be mined, with half of those expected to be minted in the next four years. The last Litecoin is estimated to be mined around 2142 due to the deflationary nature of the network.

According to data from blockchain the block was mined by BTC.com and contained 12 transactions with 16 inputs and 53 outputs moving Ł135.23934883 ($5815.29) over the network.

The current network inflation rate according to litecoinblockhalf.com is 4.19% which equates to ~7,200 new Litecoin mined each day.

In August, Litecoin completed its second halving, reducing its block reward to 12.5 LTC. Before halving, LTC had a peak of the year when it reached $ 140, however the price dropped shortly thereafter, and is currently trading at $ 44.
