Lens Protocol rebrands Layer 3 scaling solution to Momoka

Lens Protocol, a Web3 social network developer, has recently announced a rebranding of its Layer 3 scaling solution, Bonsai, to Momoka. The decision was made due to the discovery of another blockchain project using the same name, prompting Lens Protocol to quickly change their brand name to avoid any potential trademark disputes in the future. The announcement was made on Twitter, just one day after the launch of Bonsai.

Lens Protocol’s representative said that changing the name to Momoka will help the project proactively avoid any unnecessary trademark disputes in the future. The company disclosed that they had conducted checks and discovered that Bonsai was not a registered trademark, but they changed the name immediately as a precautionary measure.

The Lens Protocol team has been working closely with Bundlr Network and ArweaveEco to ensure scalability by providing Data Availability (DA) guarantees, allowing the use of Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM)-supported wallets to save DA logic, and facilitating the rapid publishing of data.

According to Lens Protocol, Momoka is already being beta-tested on various applications, such as lensterxyz, lenstubexyz, orbapp_, buttrfly_app, and phaverapp. They also announced the Momoka Explorer, a tool that allows users to track and monitor the throughput speed of Momoka transactions.

Lens Protocol’s mission is to provide a decentralized social network that allows users to have control over their content while still being user-friendly. With the rebranding of Bonsai to Momoka, the company hopes to achieve their goal of creating a scalable, decentralized social network.

Permissionless innovation is at the core of everything they do, and they look forward to seeing more applications roll out Momoka in the future. The platform has been in beta testing for a year on the mainnet, and Lens Protocol plans to build new solutions to scale to the masses.
