Judge granted SEC’s request to in connection with attorney-client privilege claims about Hinman speech documents

According to the latest update from the lawyer who closely follows the lawsuit between Ripple and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), James K. Filan, in a Text Only Order, Magistrate Judge Netburn has granted the SEC’s request to file a reply brief in connection with the SEC’s attorney-client privilege claims regarding the Hinman speech documents. The SEC’s reply is due by May 18, 2022.

Many people have questioned, why does Judge Netburn keep granting the SEC whatever they want? Judge Torres on the other hand doesn’t play favorites. There are many speculations that because she’s on the side of the SEC by default given her personal ambitions. XRP holders and many in the XRP space are ignoring the signs pointing to no settlement.

Filan also updates about SEC – LBRY case. Accordingly, LBRY has filed its Motion for Summary Judgment, along with the Exhibits and Memorandum of Law. The SEC has filed a second round of Exhibits to its Motion for Summary Judgment in the SEC v. LBRY case.
