McAfee is still criticizing the U.S. government for bringing more charges against him for shilling dubious cryptocurrency projects. And one of those projects is DOGE.

Regardless, McAfee revealed that Dogecoin’s price has increased 1,000% since he picked it up. This also means, his DOGE tweets should not be included in the DoJ’s latest pump-and-dump charges.

In the same case McAfee, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk has also caught up with rumors of a potential investigation by the US Securities and Exchange Commission for allegedly having an impact on DOGE price movements at the end of 2020 and early 2021.

Following a series of DOGE-related tweets from Musk, Dogecoin’s price saw a parabolic spike in February, reaching an all-time high of around $ 0.08 on Feb. 8. This has seen a massive sell-off after Musk urged large owners to sell off their holdings.

In 2018, after the tweet “Coin of the week: DOGE”, the price of the cryptocurrency rose to $ 0.014, then dropped to $ 0.007 in two weeks.

The coin did not retest the $ 0.014 price mark until Dogecoin started seeing significant gains in late 2020 following Musk’s tweets. In addition to DOGE, McAfee also promotes other cryptocurrencies such as Electroneum (ETN), Burst (BURST), Digibyte (DGB), Reddcoin (RDD), Humaniq (HMQ), Factom (FCT).
