According to Google Patents, the US20190373051A1 patent application that initially filed by IBM in 2018. Today, this application, which has been to the “Task Scheduling System for Internet of Things (IoT) Devices”, has been transferred to final approval.

One thing of particular interest is the fact that IOTA is integrated into this concept. The authors say that IoT system users can allocate tokens to their devices to schedule some tasks for it.

When accepted by technology giants, the blockchain field has its own champion – IOTA. In 2019, Siemens, Intel, Blackberry used these solutions. Now IBM?

IOTA tokens are being used in many concepts and solutions in Internet of Things (IoT). With the rapid development of this technology, IOTA has been getting more frequent attention when it comes to businesses in the real world.

The trading function of these crypto assets will be used by this technology. This application says the following:

The scheduler can facilitate token trading based on the use of network device capabilities to respond to performance tasks.”

Favorite tokens for corporate behemoths

In 2019, IOTA tokens were mentioned in the patents of Siemens AG, Blackberry Telecom and Intel Corporation. IOTA is widely used by corporations that try their best to care about the Internet of Things. Currently, 111 patent applications from 44 companies have been published.

Researchers of the IOTA ecosystem have built a statistical tool to analyze corporations’ IOTA adoption process through their patent applications. According to the statistics of all patents, about 77% have been published within the last 365 days.

What is IOTA?

IOTA is an open-source distributed ledger (cryptocurrency) that focuses on providing secure payment and communication between machines on the Internet of Things. Instead of the traditional blockchain, using cyclic graphical technology (DAG) as directed, IOTA’s transactions are free regardless of transaction size, fast confirmation time, the number of transactions the system has. Simultaneous handling is unlimited and the system can easily scale up. In 2015, IOTA was founded by David Sonstebo, Sergey Ivancheglo, Dominik Schiener and Dr. Serguei Popov.

IOTA is overseen by the IOTA Foundation, a non-profit organization that develops technology and maintains it free of charge for all developers working together. CarPass, an IOTA-based technology that allows safety audits, digital identification and car charging networks to be established by the Foundation in cooperation with Volkswagen and Innogy. With Deutsche Telekom, Microsoft, Fujitsu and Samsung, the Foundation opened up a data market using IOTA technology. The IOTA Foundation is also a founding member of the Trusted IOT Alliance, including Bosch, ConsenSys, USbank and Cisco.
