A mobile 5G Blockchain router focused on privacy

HTC has announced a new privacy-focused 5G Blockchain router that allows users to run a full Bitcoin node. Due to the middle of this year, Exodus 5G Hub, following the success of Tawainese’s Exodus 1 phone, is also capable of running buttons.

The specifications of the new router remain the same – it runs on Android 9 with a Snapdragon 855 chip, 4GB of memory, a microSD card slot, a nano-SIM slot, a Gigabit Ethernet port and a 7,660mAh battery. It offers a maximum download speed of about 2.63GB/s, more than enough to connect up to 20 devices. The original HTC Hub costs $ 600, but the price has not been revealed for the upcoming version that will land in the second quarter.

Exodus 5G Hub is based on services like VPN and Brave browser that focus on cryptocurrencies to ensure a high level of privacy.

However, the most exciting thing about HTC’s new product is its ability to run a Bitcoin node directly. Moreover, its users will be able to manage their cryptocurrency holdings with the help of Zion Vault wallets to allow users to store Bitcoin, Ethereum (including ERC-20 and ERC-721 tokens), Binance Coin, Litecoin and Stellar. The software provides security features, including social recovery for private keys, meaning you can break up, encrypt, and share your recovery phrases among trusted friends.

Phil Chen, decentralized chief officer at HTC, said:

“Exodus is about ownership. Owning your keys, owning your data, own your privacy. Exodus is the shield against the onslaught of big tech and its assault on the privacy of your home. By using the Exodus 5G Hub, you have more control and ownership of your data than ever before.”

HTC is already famous for Blockchain phones

The router is an addition to the Exodus line that includes Blockchain-driven smartphones. Previously, HTC introduced the Exodus 1 in February at the Mobile World Congress. The development of cryptocurrencies started back in May 2018.

In November, it also launched the Exodus 1s smartphone, which is a cheaper version of the previously released device for only $ 244.

The price of the recently announced Exodus 5G Hub router is unknown.
