Gucci tests accepting cryptocurrency payments as Shiba Inu

According to fashion magazine Vogue, fashion house Gucci will begin accepting payments in cryptocurrencies as part of a test of how effective it is to integrate crypto into its business.

Specifically, Gucci will support purchases in Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), Litecoin (LTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), Shuba Inu (SHIB), and 5 stablecoins not named.

Users at checkout will receive a QR code sent to their email address, which users can scan with a crypto wallet app and transfer money.

Gucci said it intends to offer crypto payments in a handful of stores in the US by the end of May and will expand to North America if the results are positive.

This is Gucci’s next step into crypto. Previously, the fashion company had set up a separate team specializing in Web3 research and created a virtual world called “Gucci Garden” based on the Roblox game platform. They also participate in buying land in the metaverse of The Sandbox.

Many major fashion brands like Equinox or Off-White are also starting to accept crypto payments in stores in New York, London, Paris, and Milan.
