Gucci Cosmos Land Unveils in The Sandbox’s Metaverse: A Virtual Fashion Odyssey
In a groundbreaking move that blurs the lines between the physical and digital realms, Gucci’s famed Gucci Cosmos exhibition has now found a new home within the immersive landscapes of The Sandbox’s metaverse. The virtual exhibition, aptly named Gucci Cosmos Land, is making waves as it takes fashion enthusiasts on an unprecedented journey through the iconic history of the luxury brand.
Currently captivating audiences at 180 The Strand in London, the physical exhibition is not just an ordinary showcase but a marvel built on a blockchain platform, embracing The Sandbox’s distinctive voxelized aesthetic. The brainchild of creative director Sabato De Sarno, Gucci Cosmos Land seamlessly blends Es Devlin’s physical design and the curation expertise of fashion historian Maria Luisa Frisa with The Sandbox’s cutting-edge technology.

At the heart of this metaverse experience lies the opportunity for users to delve into the rich tapestry of Gucci’s past, present, and future through their iconic designs. The collaboration marks a significant leap into the metaverse for Gucci, embracing the limitless potential of digital spaces to connect with a global audience.
The physical exhibition boasts captivating features such as the Ascending Room Elevator Experience, narrating the inspiring story of Guccio Gucci’s inception of the brand while working as a porter at the Savoy Hotel in London. The Eden Experience offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the creation of the brand’s iconic Flora print and runway shows inspired by Gucci Ancora. It’s a debut that promises to be as stylish as it is informative under the creative direction of Sabato De Sarno.
Sebastien Borget, COO, and co-founder of The Sandbox, expressed the significance of this collaboration in a statement, saying, “Gucci Cosmos Land will be a new way for fashion and history lovers to access this iconic exhibition in London from anywhere in the world. It will allow visitors to immerse themselves in Gucci’s past, present, and future.” This virtual gateway ensures that enthusiasts worldwide can partake in the magic of Gucci’s legacy, irrespective of their physical location.
This isn’t The Sandbox’s first foray into the world of high fashion. Last year, the platform hosted a Gucci Vault activation, featuring gamified experiences inspired by the collision of Gucci’s past, present, and future—a theme integral to the Gucci Vault proposition.
The Sandbox, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, has established partnerships with a diverse array of fashion and culture brands within its ecosystem, including Warner Music Group, Ubisoft, Snoop Dogg, Adidas, Deadmau5, Steve Aoki, Care Bears, and Atari.
