Grayscale Investments reached $16.4B in AUM, adds $3.4B in 1 week
Digital asset manager Grayscale Investments reached $16.4 billion in assets under management (AUM), up from the $13 billion the firm announced last week. According to a recent update, Grayscale has added 12,319 BTC to its Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) in the course of a single day. This sum was reportedly more than the cumulative purchase over the last week.

Rafael Schultze-Kraft, CTO of on-chain analyst firm Glassnode tweeted and added the chart below:
“Bitcoins added to the Grayscale Bitcoin
Trust in the past 6 months: ~210,000 BTC Bitcoins mined in the past 6 months: ~185.000 BTC
That’s right, Grayscale has been buying up more bitcoins than the amount issued.”

Grayscale has been competing actively with other institutions and this was visible in its Bitcoin holdings for 2020, which witnessed a surge of more than 66% as of date. Data suggests Gryascale’s Bitcoin holding has reached 600k BTC which was approximately $14.1 billion worth of assets under management.
