More people are searching for the word “Ethereum” than ever before in its history

According to Google Trends, the number of searches on Google currently done for “Ethereum” is at an all-time high, eclipsing search interest during the peak of the ETH bull run. Ethereum’s previous peak in search term popularity was on January 13, 2018 – the day it hit ETH’s all-time high of $ 1,432.88.

An increased interest in Google Analytics for a cryptocurrency search term is associated with positive sentiment towards that particular cryptocurrency/project. While it makes sense that search interest on Ethereum will peak during a run to new all-time highs, the same cannot be said for searches for “Bitcoin”, which only remain at 65%. the highest popularity on December 23, 2017.

That said, more people are looking for “Bitcoin” rather than “Ethereum” at a ratio of approximately 5: 1.

The surge in popularity for different cryptocurrency search terms can create a self-sustaining bull run as curious investors make a purchase, driving up prices and thus attracting more attention more mind, resulting in a larger number of searches.

Google Trends also provides data corresponding to relative regional interest. Currently, the countries with the highest interest in “Ethereum” as a search term are Kosovo, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Nigeria, and China.
