General counsel at Ripple has criticized recent move of the SEC in court during Ripple case

As the SEC responded to many amicus briefs submitted recently by various firms in support of Ripple Labs, Ripple’s general counsel, Stuart Alderoty, took to Twitter to protest the regulator’s conduct.

The securities commission has filed a move to seek more time for filing reply briefs in response to the numerous amicus briefs filed in behalf of Ripple during the last two weeks. The SEC also requested that any other amicus papers be filed by November 21. According to the SEC filing to Judge Torres, Ripple has consented to this.


Stuart Alderoty rushed to Twitter to criticize the SEC’s decision. He claimed that because “a dozen of independent voices” have come up to defend Ripple and “highlight how terribly rotten the SEC is,” the regulator only needed more time “to blindly bulldoze on it.”

On a podcast in early October, Alderoty stated that if Ripple wins against the SEC, it may be the best chance for the crypto space to get regulatory clarification.
