Gaint crypto mining Ya’an will be shut down mining operations in Sichuan province
According to Chinese crypto media newspaper PANews, Ya’an, one of the major crypto mining hubs in Sichuan province, is set to shut down mining operations in the city.
All power stations in the region will be shut down before 22:00 (GMT+8) on June 17 for self-inspection, it is unclear when the miners will be able to turn their mining machines back on, according to the report. The move came on the heels of the crackdown on another hydro-based mining hub, Yunnan province this month. Xinjiang, Inner Mongoli, and Qinghai have also ordered mining operations to shutter. At present, Sichuan is the only major Bitcoin mining province in China that has not yet implemented the supervision.
As AZCoin News reported, Sichuan province estimated to account for over 50% of the Bitcoin network’s computing power.
