Fundstrat: Bitcoin is the top-performing asset class of 2020 so far

Bitcoin has outperformed all other asset classes by at least 19% as the price of Bitcoin has increased by 39% since the beginning of the year. This is a conclusion from the market research firm Fundstrat. This shows that Bitcoin is the top-performing asset type in 2020.

Fundstrat’s Thomas Lee also made the news public.

Based on statistics from Fundstrat, U.S. Treasuries (20+ Years) is the second most valuable asset after Bitcoin, but with far ahead of Bitcoin. In particular, the performance of U.S. Treasuries is 2020 YTD Return 21.1%. Ranked third is gold with 12.5%, and U.S. treasuries with 8.9%.

Meanwhile, Global government bonds and the Nasdaq increased by 1.8% and 1.7% respectively. Besides, high-grade U.S. credit and cash funds post roughly 0.5%. In addition to the above asset types, the other asset types are all displayed in red.

Bitcoin is on track to excel for the second consecutive year

If you look at the comparison table, you can see that Bitcoin is still leading in 2019, with a 12-month increase of 92.2%. The Nasdaq ranked second with 35.2%, followed by the S&P 500 28.9%, and the MSCI World Index with 25.2%.

Besides, Bitcoin is also the best performing asset in 2017 with an increase of more than 1,550% and will include top commodities in 2016.

As of this writing, Bitcoin seems to have grown 33.5% from $ 7,205 to $ 9,620 since the beginning of the year – ranking BTC as the fifth most active of the top ten cryptocurrencies by market capitalization YTD.
