French startup Sneakmart will bring its Metakicks sneaker NFTs to the Metaverse in 2022

Before the significant growth of Metaverse, one of the famous startups, Sneakmart of France, decided not to stay out of the game. It is known that Sneakmart is one of the few companies with a Metaverse vision wishing to tokenize real-world sneakers on the blockchain.

Sneakmart announces collaboration with StockX on its first MetaKix drop

Based on the insight that sneakerheads all want to hold the Nike Air Jordan 1, not everyone is eligible. Therefore, if we put everything on the blockchain, it will be different. With these NFTs, users can customize their virtual avatars and unlock various benefits in the digital world. That model exemplifies how sneakers have developed rarity through limited-edition releases. It has propelled the athletic shoe market to a $6 billion valuation, with secondary market sales skyrocketing in recent years.

The increasing popularity and collectability of sports shoes assert that the models of shoes of different brands have a significant appeal—extremely compatible sneakers with non-fungible token technology. The recent popularity of the NFT has created a multi-billion dollar market where second-market sales are essential. Furthermore, NFT will be an important cog in the Web3 machine, allowing fashion trends to take on a digital nature.

Sneakmart has partnered with StockX, the world’s leading streetwear marketplace, and they have become the official sneakers partner for the first Metakicks sale. According to Sneakmart, they will take advantage of the potential and appeal of a community-oriented mobile application dedicated to streetwear. Furthermore, the team will internationalize its app, add unique features, and introduce new limited collections and lasting benefits to Metakicks owners.

Sneakmart has set up 15 unique 3D animated sneakers designs with 3D animated backgrounds and various shapes, textures, materials, and colors. The 15 designs will be sold through Metakicks boxes and come in Rare, Super Rare, Epic, and Legendary rarities.

Going forward, Sneakmart aims to reach a growing global audience of sneaker collectors and MFT enthusiasts. Metakicks NFTs will be usable in the Metaverse in the future and give owners access to new offers, derivatives, sneakers, and more.

And what’s more, upcoming Metakicks mystery boxes can help owners win one of 625 physical sneakers. Models include the latest Jordan 1 High, Nike Dunk Low, Adidas Yeezy 350, and two pairs of Jordan 1 Dior. There are also two pairs of Jordan collaborations with Travis Scott. Mystery box buyers have a 10% chance to win an outstanding pair of sneakers.

The first Metakicks sale will feature a prize pool of over $200,000 in sneakers, with winners able to choose their size and international shipping handled by StockX.

International footballers have already noted the first Metakicks drops and will inject their creativity into the project. Participants included Didier Droga, Kinsley Coman, and Marco Verratti, who created a one-of-a-kind edition of the personalized Metakicks. Lucky owners of these Metakicks may receive other benefits, including access to signed items, VIP game access, or meet and greets. Reportedly, the Metakicks mystery boxes will be sold through the Sneakmart website. A total of 6,250 boxes will be created on the Ethereum blockchain.

Sneakmart plans to unveil a series of one-of-a-kind Metakicks created through celebrations with the Web3 brands and communities. The first unique metakicks were designed by Savoir Faire Paris, granting NFT owners access to a pair of Jordan 1 Off-White Coffee Latte.
