Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible XRP Ledger (XRPL) sidechain is available on testnet
In a recent tweet, RippleX, which promotes the expansion and development of the XRP Ledger (XRPL) ecosystem, outlines the specifics of the upcoming EVM sidechain on the XRPL.
It claims that the XRPL sidechain is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and is accessible on the testnet. Users can create an account and submit a transaction with the EVM sidechain bridge.
The EVM Sidechain directly connects to the network through the XRPL bridge and supports up to 1K transactions per second.🤯

The EVM sidechain for XRPL’s first phase was released in October, according to the software firm Peersyst, and it became live on XRPL Devnet.
To test scalability in a controlled environment, phase two of the project includes a permissionless EVM sidechain and bridge that connects to XRPL Devnet.
A permissionless EVM sidechain and bridge will be made available on the XRPL mainnet after the conclusion of the three phases of development.
According to Ripple CTO David Schwartz, adding Ethereum smart contracts to XRP Ledger would make it easier for developers to create cross-chain compatible applications.
