The co-founder of Ethereum doesn’t want Elon Musk to take the crypto industry as a joke
Recently, when participating in an interview with BNN Bloomberg, Di Iorio expressed his dissatisfaction with the CEO of Tesla. Specifically, he suggested that Elon Musk sees crypto as a joke.
In fact, Di Iorio admits that people like Elon Musk have the power to make big changes. However, he believes they should focus on seriousness rather than frivolity.
“I’m just really wishing that their energy is going to be focused around important people and not having fun with something that’s so,” he stated.
In recent times, Elon Musk had attracted a lot of anger from the crypto community when he promoted the meme coin DOGE excessively. This has helped the Dogecoin capitalization be pushed to an astounding $90 billion by early May 2021. This is also the time when this meme-coin hit an all-time high of $0.74 on May 8. However, shortly after that, DOGE fell more than 72.5% and is currently trading around $0.203 at press time.
However, this still did not stop Musk as the billionaire continued to promote DOGE with tweets and memes. Earlier in July, as AZCoin News reported, Tesla CEO criticized both Bitcoin and Ethereum to promote… Dogecoin!
Besides, the Ethereum co-founder also criticized all the founders or programmers who deliberately promoted inflating their tokens. While regulators are focusing on regulatory pressure on all fronts, Di Iorio remains confident about the future of cryptocurrencies. “This is a movement that’s not going to stop,” he said.
Anthony Di Iorio’s statements are gaining attention as not long ago, as AZCoin News reported, the man announced that he would be giving up on cryptocurrency due to safety concerns and focus on investing in charity activities.
“I don’t feel definitely safe in this space. If I was focused on larger problems, I think I’d be safer.”
After co-founding the second largest cryptocurrency – Ethereum (ETH) – Di Iorio focuses on philanthropy and other matters.
