Elon Musk: Tesla will be offering merchandise for sale with Dogecoin (DOGE)

Elon Musk: Dogecoin (DOGE) to be accepted by Tesla for Merch to see how it goes

This is something DOGE fans have long been waiting for, asking Musk to allow Tesla to accept the cryptocurrency meme for his electric vehicles. Because Musk has long been a longtime fan of this coin meme. He invested in it, bought it for his toddler, and even discussed with its developers about making it handle higher throughput.

Earlier, Musk also stated in an interview that Dogecoin is much more convenient for payments than Bitcoin. However, he was referring to BTC as a store of value.

Earlier this year, Tesla started accepting Bitcoin for its e-cars. However, the company later shut down BTC payments due to Musk’s concern about the environmental harm of Bitcoin mining. Tesla’s refusal to pay BTC destroyed the price of Bitcoin.

When he was named Time Magazine’s Man of the year, he said, “Fundamentally, bitcoin is not a good substitute for transactional currency.” Instead, he suggested dogecoin — even though it was created as a joke.
