Coin98 Labs has acquired CyBallOfficial, moving further into Web3 Gaming

The CyBall football play-to-earn game announced that it had reached an agreement to be acquired by Coin98 Labs, the developer of the Coin98 Super App.

Coin98 acquires play-to-earn game CyBall

On the evening of December 8, CyBall, a card-style play-to-earn game – football, announced that Coin98 Labs, the developer of Coin98 Wallet and the ecosystem of accompanying products had acquired it.

The reason for this decision, according to CyBall, is that the cryptocurrency market in 2022 witnessed a long slide, significantly affecting the project’s viability and being linked to the collapse of the FTX exchange. The acquisition of Coin98 will help CyBall have more new capital to realize the vision and bring the project to a new development chapter.

In transferring and combining resources between the two parties, players can still use CyBall’s products without interruption. CyBall said it will temporarily postpone the launch of the CYB governance token, despite the announcement that it will issue CYB on December 10.

CyBall is a play-to-earn game that combines soccer and cards, where players take control of Cybloc NFTs and compete against each other in turn. Cybloc had a notable sale on Binance NFT in October 2021.

The project in December 2021 raised $1.8 million from funds, including Bitkraft Ventures, Animoca Brands, Ascensive Assets, Merit Circle, Yield Guild Games, GuildFi, Raydium, Coin98, and SkyVision Capital.

The arrival of CyBall will help Coin98 move deeper into Web3 games, which began with Coin98’s acquisition of game developer Yunero Studios in June 2022. Coin98’s current ecosystem includes other products such as the Coin98 Super App wallet, AMM Saros Finance, and Baryon Network.
