Cardano price has managed to hit $3 in anticipation of the much-awaited Alonzo upgrade

Cardano price crossed the $3 mark for the first time, recording a 10% gain in the past 24 hours. Thus, ADA made an all-time high at $3.03, has now declined, and has held steady at $3,049.

Cardano price hits $3 for the first time as testnet now supports smart contracts

ADA has recorded a 15% gain over the past seven days. This is the name of the altcoin with the biggest increase in price in the past week after Solana (SOL). The native token of the largest proof-of-stake blockchain has grown by more than 1,567% in 2021.

Due to its dizzying price hike, ADA is getting more and more press coverage in the mainstream media.

ADA has been rallying hard in anticipation of the much-awaited Alonzo upgrade. According to a recent announcement by IOG, the Cardano testnet now officially supports smart contracts.

“So there we have it. Since c. 20:20 UTC today, the Cardano Testnet now officially supports Plutus smart contracts. Final testing & integrations ahead. SPOs will now upgrade their mainnet nodes. Then next stop… mainnet upgrade, still on track for 12 September. Onward!”, Input Output tweeted.

The final testing and integrations are now ahead of the mainnet launch slated to take place on September 12nd.
