Cardano Foundation Strengthens Executive Team with New COO and CLO Appointments

The Cardano Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the Cardano blockchain, has announced the appointment of Andreas Pletscher as its Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Nicolas Jacquemart as its Chief Legal Officer (CLO). Both Pletscher and Jacquemart bring with them a wealth of experience in their respective fields, and their appointment signals the foundation’s commitment to improving its operational resilience and legal engagement.

Andreas Pletscher has more than 25 years of experience in the local and international financial services industry, having worked in managerial positions at PwC and IBM. In his most recent role, Pletscher led a large transformation project for a crypto services provider in Switzerland. As the new COO of the Cardano Foundation, he will be responsible for improving the performance and resilience of the Cardano blockchain.

Nicolas Jacquemart, on the other hand, has a strong background in the legal space. He worked on the fintech desk at FINMA, Switzerland’s financial market supervisory authority, and has held positions at high-profile law firms in Switzerland. With a PhD in law from the University of Zurich, where he studied the intersection of blockchain technology and financial market regulation, Jacquemart will be tasked with legal engagement and education for the Cardano Foundation. He hopes to work at the interface between the Cardano ecosystem, the wider blockchain community, regulators, and the legal profession.

Frederik Gregaard, CEO of the Cardano Foundation, expressed his excitement about the new appointments, noting that both Pletscher and Jacquemart have “huge expertise” and “incredible ambition and drive.” He believes that they will have a “massive impact” on the foundation’s mission, which is “to improve the operational resilience and adoption of the Cardano blockchain while educating the world about the technology’s applications and potential.”

In his statement, Pletscher expressed his enthusiasm for the foundation’s strategy, which he believes is an “excellent objective” for any COO. He is looking forward to supporting the teams to improve the performance and resilience of the Cardano blockchain. Meanwhile, Jacquemart is excited to be stepping into his new role, saying that it’s a “fascinating time” to be working in the blockchain space.

The Cardano Foundation’s new appointments come at a time when interest in blockchain technology is growing. The foundation’s commitment to improving its operational resilience and legal engagement will be critical in driving adoption and improving the performance of the Cardano blockchain. With the addition of Pletscher and Jacquemart to its executive team, the Cardano Foundation is well-positioned to achieve its mission of educating the world about the potential of the Cardano blockchain.
