Blockchain.com to halt XRP trading on January 14th
The crypto exchange and wallet provider Blockchain.com to halt XRP trading on Thursday, January 14th. Users will be able to send XRP outbound even after that date, but deposits will not go through.
“Due to the SEC’s recent action against Ripple Labs, Blockchain.com will halt XRP trading beginning Thursday, January 14th at 11:59pm GMT. For all customers who have XRP balances, you will continue to have access to your XRP to send after we halt trading, but we will no longer support receiving more XRP in the Exchange,” the company’s blog said on Tuesday.
Blockchain.com was launched in August 2011 and was founded by Ben Reeves a founding team member at the crypto-currency exchange Coinbase. Reeves had a differing opinion on the future of Coinbase, so he left Coinbase to start Blockchain.com. The platform is one of the world’s largest wallet provider and block explorer.
