The message says only the first 10,000 users can take advantage of the offer. The message includes a QR code for the wallet as well as its address. All other site functionality is currently limited as users are not able to skirt or ignore the message.

The giveaway scam’s address has received over $17,899 in small transactions as of the time of writing, according to bitcoin explorer blockchain.com.

Recently, the Bitcoin.org website has also experienced other problems. Craig Wright had won a lawsuit against Cøbra over the copyright of the Bitcoin whitepaper. As a result, the website creator had to pay $48,600 for Wright’s legal fees and also publish a statement acknowledging the verdict for no less than 6 months.
