Binance US partners with Unstoppable Domains to provide .BinanceUS addresses on Polygon

Binance US has partnered with Web3 domain provider Unstoppable Domains to offer .BinanceUS addresses on the Polygon network. Unstoppable Domains announced on April 26 that the .BinanceUS domain name will be exclusively available through the exchange’s app in the coming weeks. Additionally, Unstoppable will release two-character domains for Binance US customers, such as 14.BinanceUS or 23.BinanceUS, a first for the company.

Web3 domains are used as a replacement for long cryptocurrency wallet addresses, and domain services need to be integrated with wallets and cryptocurrency apps to be used. With .BinanceUS, the exchange’s customers will be able to buy, sell, and send cryptocurrencies within the exchange’s app. Moreover, Unstoppable Domains users will be able to withdraw cryptocurrencies to any Unstoppable domain name, including .crypto and .nft, using Binance.US.

Unstoppable Domains has minted over 3.4 million domains, all of which can be used on Binance US. The company was founded in 2018 and has a valuation in the billions of dollars, with major investors such as Pantera Capital and Coinbase Ventures. Ethereum Name Service (ENS), Unstoppable’s largest competitor, offers domains like .eth and has created over 2.7 million domains.

While ENS mints domains on Ethereum, Unstoppable uses Polygon, giving it an advantage over ENS in terms of gas fees and renewal fees. According to Unstoppable Domains CEO Sandy Carter, the community can purchase .BinanceUS domains for $10.

“This is the first time Binance US is introducing a digital identity for its community. The .BinanceUS domains will simplify the crypto experience for the community and allow users to own their digital identity,” said Nandini Maheshwari, Vice President of Business Development at Binance US.

This isn’t the first time Unstoppable Domains has partnered with companies to create branded domain names. Previously, Carter worked with Polygon Labs and Blockchain.com to launch .polygon and .blockchain domains, respectively.
