Binance Airdrops $100 BNB to Earthquake-Stricken Turkish Users in Relief Efforts

The recent earthquake in Turkey has caused widespread destruction and left many communities in need of support. In response to this tragedy, Binance has announced its plans to airdrop BNB worth $100 to all Binance users who are living in the regions most affected by the earthquake. The total donations are expected to reach around $5 million USD (or 94,000,000 TRY).

The identification of the users will be based on Proof of Address (POA) completed before February 6th in 10 cities including Kahramanmaraş, Kilis, Diyarbakır, Adana, Osmaniye, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Adıyaman, Malatya, and Hatay. While POA method has its limitations, it is the best method available to locate potentially impacted users.

In the aftermath of natural disasters, traditional banking systems often become inaccessible, leaving people in need of financial aid to cover essential needs such as medical supplies and food. This is where crypto transfers come in, as they provide fast, low-cost, borderless and transparent transactions.

Binance Charity has also launched a public donation address for anyone to donate. Donations in BTC, ETH, BNB, BUSD, and XRP will be accepted and converted to TRY, which will then be given to an authorized NGO to help those in need.

Binance founder and CEO CZ has stated that the recent earthquakes in Turkey have had a devastating impact on many people and communities and that Binance is doing its part to help. He is also calling on other industry peers to come together and offer support in these difficult times.

Binance stands by its users and will continue to work on additional ways to help its community in Turkey during these difficult times. The company’s efforts to provide relief to those affected by the earthquake are commendable, and other crypto companies should follow Binance’s lead to provide support to those in need.
