Avalanche, the lightning-fast custom app chain network, has taken a giant stride towards seamless interoperability with the release of Teleporter. This innovative cross-chain messaging protocol, built upon the robust Avalanche Warp Messaging (AWM), has transformed Avalanche into a network where chains communicate so seamlessly that they function as a singular entity.

Subnets, launched in Spring 2022, initiated the growth of custom app chains across various blockchain verticals. Breakthroughs like AWM (Subnet interoperability), HyperSDK (VM optimization), and Firewood (throughput) paved the way for enhanced Subnet capabilities.

Teleporter is the missing link, enabling EVM Subnets to seamlessly exchange messages and connect the expanding universe of Subnets. Developers can now build cross-chain swaps and create interconnected gaming environments. Institutions can utilize USDC as the native gas token of a Subnet. The possibilities are boundless.

Teleporter simplifies the development of Avalanche decentralized applications (dApps). Offering an extensive, audited framework, Teleporter abstracts away the complexities of AWM’s signing and verification processes. Web3 builders can now easily call contracts on other EVM chains within the Avalanche network, including the Avalanche C-chain. Teleporter’s release aligns with the recent Durango upgrade on the Avalanche Mainnet, activated on 3/6 after a successful run on the Fuji Testnet. The Durango upgrade introduced a range of capabilities, including the activation of the first community-proposed Avalanche Community Proposals (ACPs), notably ACP-30. AWM, the foundation of Teleporter, was activated through ACP-30.
