Astar Network and Startale Labs Collaborate with Japanese Telecom Giant KDDI to Boost Web3 Adoption
Singapore-based companies Astar Network and Startale Labs have inked a memorandum of understanding with Japanese telecommunications behemoth KDDI Corporation to accelerate the adoption of blockchain technology in society and revolutionize customer experiences in the era of Web3.
This collaboration seeks to explore new business opportunities related to token technology and the applications of Astar Network’s Ethereum Layer 2 solution, Astar zkEVM (Zero-Knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine), within KDDI’s “αU” market.

KDDI’s “αU” encompasses a suite of Web3 services, including the “αU market” and “αU wallet,” enabling users to manage and trade digital assets seamlessly.
With over 50 million subscribers in Japan, KDDI is a telecommunications giant serving 60 cities and 100 locations worldwide.
Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has expressed support for digital finance and Web3 adoption in Japan as part of an economic recovery strategy. The partnership between Astar Network, Startale Labs, and KDDI is poised to play a pivotal role in advancing these efforts, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the realm of blockchain technology and Web3 applications in Japan.
